World is much in talk about the latest feature launched by Instagram that goes by the name of ‘Instagram Stories’. We have seen the same format, something on which an entire application is based, on snapchat. You can share moments from your day and make the whole experience go more live. • Is it the same thing as Snapchat?

Yes, to an extent. There is a change in the interface of the course. It’s like; Instagram picked up the format and applied it to their community. The community seems to like it though.

• Will the photos appear on my grid or feed?

No, they don’t appear on your grid or feed. They are in a bar on your home page in round icons right above from where feeds start. Stories disappear after 24 hours.

• How to view someone’s story?

In pretty much the same way as one does on Snapchat. You tap on the profile photo having a circular ring around it, when there is something new to see. It’s easier to view on your home page. You tap to move forward and swipe for the next story.

• How private is my story?

If you have a private account, your story is confined to your followers alone. You can choose to hide your story from anyone you want. You can swipe to check on viewers.

• Any addition features?

Yes, plenty! Instagram allows you to share as much as you want throughout the day using creative tools and drawings. You can tap on the picture and direct message to the user. There are no usual like and comment features. You can even choose to feature a particular part of your story by posting it on your profile.
